Since our official registration in 2018, Children of Prisoners Uganda has grown from supporting a handful of families to providing ongoing direct aid to 68 families affected by parental imprisonment. Many of these families have male parents serving long sentences (15 years and above or life) mainly at Luzira Prisons.
Key achievements in the past year include:
- Distributing school fees, uniforms, and books to dozens of children, enabling several to complete secondary education.
- Providing food packages, clothing, and sanitary items during emergency visits.
- Conducting counselling sessions and prison family reunions that strengthened family bonds.
- Supporting guardians with small skills training and start-up grants for income-generating activities.

We currently have over 840 identified children on our waiting list. With increased funding and more partners, we aim to bring many of them into the programme this year.
Founder Jimmy Kasule continues to lead with passion, driven by his personal promise made during his own time in prison to help these forgotten children.

We remain fully committed to transparency and accountability. All donations are used efficiently to maximise impact on the ground from our office in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District.
Call to Action: Join us in expanding this life-changing work. Donate, volunteer, or partner with us today. Together, we can ensure no child is punished for their parent’s mistakes.
